I have a 73 motor with a cracked exhaust manifold, i want to put headers on instead of a stock replacement manifold, do i also need to change out the intake if i use headers?

yes you can use the stock intake. however, if you use the clifford headers, the flanges are different thicknesses. you need to use a thick and soft manifold gasket to get it to seal up. i have a leak on #4 that won't seal up because the difference in thickness.

4 sets of Clifford headers, I have, are all 1/2 inch flange. The MP headers I have seen, have a thinner flange with, (I think) a nut welded on, where the triangle washers go.

My Clifford headers have the thick flange also. I am using an Offy intake. I don't know if it is different than stock.

The Offie, Clifford and factory manifolds, I have in stock, all have the same flange thichness, within manucturing tolorances.

my clifford headers hava a thinner flange than my clifford 4 barrel intake.
I ground around an 1/8" off of one side of the triangle washers to make everything seal up nicely.

On my mopar headers I welded 3/16" spacers on the flanges where the triangle washers make contact. This brought it up to the same thickness as my offy intake. It seals no problem with a Mr Gasket 320 gasket.
