I have someone offering me a "NOS" three core 22" slant six radiator for a pretty good price, seller claims it has never been on a car. I am questioning several aspects to this claim that it is NOS and /6 because, I have never seen a three core slant six radiator. I am assuming all /6 radiators have in the inlet and outlet tube on the same side and the V-8 radiators have the cross over with top side on drive/ bottom on passenger, but am i wrong on this? Anyone know where I can check the part number for a radiator and match it to the applicable vehicle/engine/tranny? I have had no luck finding any sites that do this, and I am not sure where my interchange manual is since I moved!!!
Many Thanks.

Brian

HD radiators were available with slant-6 engines in some year/model combinations (e.g. Maximum Cooling package, towing package). 3-row 22-inch...? H'mmm. Not sure about that.

The critical location for slant-6 service is the radiator outlet, which must be at the right-hand side of the lower tank (view as though radiator is installed in the car, that is, you are facing the inlet and outlet). There have been setups with the inlet (in the top tank) in the centre and towards the right.

Seller is claiming this is a brand new original Chrysler part, and is asking how much money? "NOS" may be an attempt to extract extra money from it.

I haven't seen the radiator to confirm anything (3 core or 22"), but he is asking $100.00. That seems like an excellent price based on the aftermarket prices I have seen or what I paid for my after market /6 e-body radiator.

My curiosity remains but my skeptism is really high, I am not a radiator expert but had never heard of ma Mopar doing a 3 core. I was wondering if it might have been a service vehicle option (cab or towing kit?) radiator, but again that is just speculation. I am trying to obtain pictures, but will see how that goes. For all I know it could be full of pin holes or a Chevy radiator as I have never met the seller and don't know his knowledge.

Thanks again as always for sharing your knowledge Dan, it is always appreciated.

Brian

If the unit is to advertised specs, who cares if it will be NOS or not? Good price.
