i had a slant six that blew up, i got a 1072 duster 225 to replace it, the old motor has the same mounting points and everything but no spark plug tubes and the motor mount even though they bolt on block the same dont work to make the new 225 fit the frame. did i originaly have a 170? are there adapters for the mounts? im at a total dead end now. |

What year/model is the car? Use the mounts and engine brackets fom the old engine. Depending on year/model, you might have to change the oil pan and pickup. If the car is 1967 or earlier, you will need an adapter in the end of the crankshaft for the torque converter. The mountings for the 170 and 225, are the same, within the same year. |

I could be wrong on this, but I thought K frames switched at some point also, not from engine to engine but from year to year. earlier sixes used a "sandwich" engine mount while the later ones used a "spool" type mount. when I dropped a 75 slant into a 1970 (on a duster) I need to change the K frames. |

The K-members did change in '73 (and also '67), but you can swap the mounting brackets off the original engine instead of swapping K-members. |
