To make things go a bit faster when it's time to pull the engine from my '64 Valiant convertible, I'm going to build up a '79 engine and have it ready so I can swap over a weekend.

I know the cranks are different and that I will need an adapter spacer for the converter nose, but is there something else I might be forgetting?

This is for a car that is never raced, so the rod size and cast crank are not a concern.

Does anyone know a source for the converter adapter?...or will I have to visit a machine shop to get one made?

Pat Blais sells the adapters from his Ebay store.

oil pan and pick up will be an issue - The 79 pan does not
fit with the /6 center link and the 62-66 kmember.

Thanks for the link!

Yes, I knew I will have to swap pans and pickup, but thanks for reminding me.

You will also need the flexplate/flywheel from the later engine.
