| Post subject: | 4 OD bellhousing clutch fork? |
I know the clutch fork is specific to the OD housing so can anyone provide dimensions of the clutch fork or better yet a photo with a fork laid out next to a ruler? I would like to make sure I get the right one with the 4 speed OD bellhousing I am getting. You can email it to me at bohmer72 at sbcglobal.net Thanks, Brian |

In my experience an instant, no-measure way exists to relate the fork to the BH. The pivot (attachmen)t inside the BH differs and is readiy relatable one to another, even if separated, say at a flea market. One kind has a pivot that has a slot in it and its fork has a spring steel tab on its underside that has a point on the end that slides into the slit on the pivot. This pivot has two bolts that hold it in place. The fork also bends upward silghtly at the end where it gets pushed. This pivot cannot readily be transferred to the other kind of BH, and the fork is slightly smaller than the one for the other BH. This other BH appears to me to be a slightly rougher casting and I choose to port it for appearance sake. It has a single ball pivot that screws into the BH, and its proper fork has a spring steel catchment on its underside, but unlike the one previously described, has a U-shaped end so that it can be pressed to the ball stem. This fork does not bend slightly upward. I had tried swithching catchments by grinding off rivets, swapping, and re-riviting afterwards, but the size difference in forks plus the slight upward tilt of the smaller fork made that swap not work, even thoug by doing the catchment swap I could get the forks to interchange at the pivot. (Of course, one does need multiple forks to be trying this!). And I am speakinig only of cast aluminium BH's on the 833OD with the 5 1/8 input bearing retainer. rock '64d100 |

It is a 4 speed OD housing, I am waiting to get pictures from the seller of the different forks he has. Hopefully a picture of the forks and the bellhousing will help someone to tell me which one it is that I need? Thanks Brian |
