ok 1974 dart 225 stock cleaned up valve cover, all new grommets, pcv valve, and cracnkcase breather (eledbrock push in from advance) after a trip i popped the hood and i have oil coming from the breather (crankcase, not from the grommet, the little holes underneath, like oil soaked filter) i converted to synthethic and i now have a head gasket leak, but an comtinuing to drive it till i get an off day or two) do i have shot rings causing the extreme blow-by or is this contributed by the head leak? help appreciated, dustin |

If you've got a blown head gasket it could be pressurizing the crankcase and blowing oil out the breather. |

Easy test for rings - run a compression check on each cylinder, then squirt some heavy oil into each cylinder and run check again - if compression jumps up then its likely rings. |
