Thanks for the advice on converting my 81 D150 to a Super Six set up. The truck has the Electronic Spark Control module bolted to the air cleaner and I'm wonder what I can do with that since the Super Six will have a different air cleaner? Any ideas? Is this ESC the same thing as the "lean burn" system? The Super Six set up is off of a 78 Volare in case that matters? |

I think that ESC is the same as Lean Burn. What distributor do you have? Does it have an external vacuum advance or not? |

Thanks, I looked through some old posts on this site and found the answers. Looks like it is what is called the lean burn system. Installing the Super Six would require me to convert the ignition system as well. I think I'm gonna skip the Super Six for now and just buy a replacement exhaust manifold. The truck runs fine now other than the cracked manifold. Any suggestions on where to buy a replacement manifold? Napa has it for $499, but I see them online for just over $100 depending on the site. I wonder if there is any difference between the two? |
