Does it have a wire with 12 volt to the rgulator(thru a switch)
I believe it is called a sensing wire?

i am having trouble getting my charging system to work, i have a custom harness as the /6 ia in a 48 dodge truck. i have looked at manuals and wiring diagrams but cant get it figured out. thanks! |

what i have it the alternator with 2 fld output tabs and one Battery ouptput, the regulator i have is the basic mopar 70-80 deal with the diamond shaped connector. the car fires up and runs fine but does not charge to battery |

Ok, so one wire goes from the stud, to battery, I guess you have that one right... one field wire goes to one contact on the regulator, the other field wire goes to the other contact on the regulator, then you splice in a wire on the second field wire, to a 12 volt source, which is only hot while running. I believe I spliced that wire to the ignition 12 volt feed? |
