The heater on my 81 1/2T doesn't work and its getting mighty cold. After looking ot over I found a burnt wire going to what I believe is the resitor( on top of heater box behind glove box) . There are 2 plugs going to the resistor, one with 3 wires and one with 1 green wire. The 1 green wire is the one that is melted. Is this wire the power wire coming from the dash switch or the power wire to the motor or something else??? Also how to I test the resitor to see if it is still good?? I assume it will be a ohms test, but on which terminals and what readings should I get?? Thanks alot!

this may not be a solution for you, but in my duster the same thing happened years ago. after I re-attached the wire I just had to change the fuse and the fan started right up.
