I have a complete A833 from `64 with the ball and trunion output flange. Will I have any issues mounting this on a `66 or later /6 225" engine, I have a `68 and a `73 (I think) /6 225" engine. Or do I have to use my aluminum block..?
The `66 and later A833 has the slip yoke type.

That transmission will fit and work behind any-year, any-displacement slant-6 and will bolt into any A-body. The only adaptation measure is that you will have to either use the ball and trunnion driveshaft assembly, or put on the truck-type conversion kit and use a shorter conventional driveshaft.

Didn't 65 and older cars have a different speedo drive than 66 later.

Actual mounting is no different than any other 833 assuming that you have the bellhousing that is supposed to mount the trans. You didn't specifically mention having a bell. The 64 slant 4 speed bell is cast iron, but there are some adaptor plate floating around. The 64-65 slant 833 has a steep first gear (3.09:1).

Good catch—he'll need to use a '62-'65 speedo cable.

I do have the bellhousing, clutch fork, flywheel etc. but not the speedo cable. Where do I find a new one? Other than that I believe I am pretty much covered.
I'll see what I will do about the driveshaft.

Thanks for the answers.
