ok i put an msd blaster 2 coil on about 2 months ago before my rebiuld and it would not run without a ballast resistor sounds normal right well after i rebiult my engine it had to bypass the resistor and now she will run any thoughts on this is there something wrong or what |

Remind us what kind of ignition you're running. Chrysler electronic, GM HEI, something else? |

i am using the stock 74 chrystler electronic ignition also have not yet upgraded to the oragne box so i dont know what would be going on? |

There isn't that much difference between the stock and orange Mopar box, and the metal can MSD coil isn't all that different from a stock coil. I've run an MSD can-type coil for years with a stock (Ford) electronic ignition w/o any problem. I have seen brand new coils that just were plain defective and wouldn't make a good spark or would arc inside and fry ignition boxes in short order. |
