| Post subject: | Which Carbs are Staged 2 Barrels |
Hi Folks, A couple of questions: Which carbs are of the staged 2 barrel design? I know there was a Holley model. Are all the webers with 2 pairs of numbers in the model (like 32/36) "staged"? Also, which of the Webers are well built? I understand that the Weber factory has been located in several different countries, and I've heard that some were good, some not. As always, thanks in advance for the fine information on this site. -Mac |

Holley 2305 (veyr rare, only produced for ashort while in the 80s) came in a 350 and 500 CFM version. It is basically a 2300 but staged. Then there is the Holley/Motorcraft 5200 that come on fords, mercurys, dodges and plymouths on the four cylinder engines. There are numerous Weber staged two barrel carbs (that is what the 5200 is based on) as well. |

You might also consider the Carter/Weber (2bbl progressive) carb from the 80's 4/V6 cyl Ford and Merc economy cars. Usually overlooked by most people but a good choice for multiple carb intakes. They are easier to tune than the true Webers. A good choice for a multiple carb street car looking for "some" semblence of gas milage. (personal opinion)
