The power steering pump on my Duster sits too far foward so the A/C belt rubs against the housing. Is there anyway to slide it back some?

Also, the pulley bearing in my A/C compressor (V2) and been rumbling lately, so is there anyway I can like shoot some oil or something into it to quiet it down a little bit? How hard is the bearing to change?

Shouldn't have to; I can't imagine any way that correctly-routed A/C belts could possibly rub against any part of the P/S pump, unless the P/S pump's bracketry is seriously tweaked and/or the wrong pump was installed.

No, if it's making noise it needs to be replaced. They're not difficult to do. Remove the clutch/pulley assembly, remove the snap ring holding in the bearing, replace the bearing.

Well, its rubbing against it, so how do I tell if the brackets are off.

I've got a digital camera but I have no idea how to get my pictures on the internet. Not very techologically inclined. Could you please post easy to understand instructions. I would like to show y'all some pictures of my car.

Can you email me the pictures? I'll host them for you.

Just send them as attachments to ross.pulliam@gmail.com and they'll be put up :).

I got the picture of the red duster, but we are actually needing pictures of the PS pump and brackets under the hood to describe what you are talking about with the clearance issue. Shoot me those pics as well and I'll get them all posted for you.

Hey Ross, thanks, but I just figured out how to post pictures using Image shack. So you can delete the picture of my Duster that I sent you. I will take some pictures of the power steering pump sometime this week and post them.

Okay guys I took a few pictures of the pump today

Here is looking down on top of the pump. The belt has an index cards clearance between it and the pump body.

H'mm...belt routing and spacing look normal to me. Where's the belt hitting? And is it rubbing constantly, or in a hit-hit-hit-hit fashion that might indicate a bent A/C idler?

I thought it was supposed to have more clearance than that. You can barely slide an index card in between the belt and the pump.

It is a that same clearance all the time. No on and off.
