What brand intakes are you talking about? By long runner I guess you mean Hyperpak? The short is an offenhauser, clifford or...? That way you get the best answer possible. What are you hoping to achieve with this motor?

Trying to achieve durability/reliability because it will be used as a daily driver.

Then a 2bbl would almost certainly better suit your needs than either of the 4bbl pieces you're asking about.
