I have been told to look out for a long runner, 4-barrel intake if wanting to upgrade my /6. But I came across a short runner 4-barrel. What are the differences between these two regarding performance, looks, weight, specs, etc. Thanks again in advance...

What brand intakes are you talking about? By long runner I guess you mean Hyperpak? The short is an offenhauser, clifford or...? That way you get the best answer possible. What are you hoping to achieve with this motor?

Trying to achieve durability/reliability because it will be used as a daily driver.

Then a 2bbl would almost certainly better suit your needs than either of the 4bbl pieces you're asking about.

Any reliable brand with a good reputation that you recommend?

Super six intake (two barrel) with a carter BBD from a late 70's aspen/volare/diplomat. Look in the articles section off the main page all the information you need for the swap is there.
