Funny i see this after everythings set up and my motor's almost ready to start. Well, being that it's a draw-thru, fuel and air go through the carb into the buickgrannational carb base and into the turbo, from that, i have a ~2 inch diameter pipe running from the compressor outlet into the stock intake. so, from the compressor outlet all the way to the cylinders, there's going to be fuel and air mixed, not air as in a blow thru from turbo to carb and intake. I'm running my vacuum lines into the carburetor base between the carb and turbo, but the one million dollar question of the days is.. Where can i find a air-only boost source to run my MSD Boost timing master, Boost gauge, and Stock Wastegate from a 2.2garrett?? The only boost source is ALL fuel and air. MSD says the BTM will fry if fuel gets in. I am completely stumped on this one. Am i completely S.O.L.? I'll be damned if i've come this far... |

I wonder if you could use a isolated setup ....like a modified vacuum amplifier . |

On a draw-through system, there is no such a thing as an air-only boost source. You would have to install some sort of a decoupler: A chamber with a thin and highly flexible but strong elastomeric diaphragm, large enough and with enough travel to transmit the full range of vacuum and boost (that'll be a toughie!). One side of the device would get connected to manifold vacuum/boost. The other side would get hooked to all the devices that need to be able to read vacuum and boost. |

I haven't had a problem running a MSD BTM with a draw through carby set-up, I think you're worrying too much. |
