First off I am putting together a slant it will be ported/polished and have a 264 dur/470 lift cam, offy four barrel intake and a 500cfm edelbrock carb. The rest of the engine is stock. My questions are as follows.

1. the engine is a remanufactured unit and I would like to shave to head.the problem is what would be safe to shave off if it has already been shaved buy the rebuild place. Also I not sure if the block has been decked. I can find no markings. I believe the block has been decked because the stamping are gone off the block deck.

2. Is there any measurements as far as thickness i can take of the head to tell if it has been shaved or will I have to cc the head if this will tell me anything.

3. What are the piston to deck measurements so I can tell if the block has been decked.

4. Also will I have interference with this lift on the cam with the pistons if i shave the head and the block had been decked.

Hope I didn't ask to stupid of questions. Oh I forgot this is a 225 in a 1980 shortbox D150 with a 904 trans.
