I just pulled into the driveway and heard a dripping sound coming from the car. I looked and the transmission fluid is pouring out of the bottom of the transmission bellhousing. What happened? Torque convertor? Seal blew? What????????????

Front or rear of the tranny? Front is probably the front pump seal. It is a $5 part but you have to pull the tranny to replace it. No fun.

Front of transmission. My son (whose car it is) is not happy. This transmission was completely rebuilt less than a year ago. I hope this is a warranty item.

Maybe. Who "rebuilt" it? I just got done swapping a 727 out of my brother's van that was "rebuilt" by ABC Transmissions here in Tacoma, Washington (on South Tacoma Way) that failed within a year and a half of being "rebuilt." When I pulled the pan it was completely sludged up with a silver mettallic goo. I hope your shop did it better than ABC did my tranny.

A very reputable Transmission place here in Houston, Texas. Shine Transmission.

Is the front pump seal covered under a warranty? I am thinking not.

Depends; some transmission shops won't warranty it because excessive runout in the rear main of the engine can wreak havoc. Others will.

Engine was rebuilt first (by about 2 months) and then driven to the transmission shop to get the tranny rebuilt. So I hope the runnout isn't a cause.
