I'm rebuilding an aluminum block /6. It has a 2 piece seal retainer at the back of the crank. The seal is beveled. Question - does the high side of the bevel go toward the inside of the motor or does it face the flex plate side? Thanks.

"High side" to the inside of the motor.

Be sure you don't reverse the section in the bottom cap as you look at it one way and then "flip" the cap over to install it on the engine.

Thanks. That was the conclusion I came to yesterday after consulting some mechanic buddies. High side to the inside. It's done. My gasket kit only had the "L" rubber side seals for the lower seal retainer. I used black RTV to seal the upper retainer to the block. I hope that is adequate.
