Ok I have a stock 225 in a 1985 Dodge D-100 pickup truck. it has 2 cats. and a muffler. It robs so much horsepower because when I got the truck all it had was the first cat and it had nothing in it. It was all broken and it all came out. And my truckj would move then. But now since I put all the original exhaust back onto it it just has no more balls. so recently I removed it all except for the front cat. That is my dilemma. I don't know what slant sixes used to use but mine comes off the exhaust manifold, hits the first cat goes down a little farther and crossed under the tranny to the passenger side of the truck. It is all one piece and it was kind of expensive to get it rebuilt. So that is all I have on my truck right now just that 1 piece, and it has a much bigger improvement than having the second cat and the muffler and everything else on there. I was wondering if any of you older slant sixers knew of any kind of exhaust I could find or buy that doesn't have that whole first cat section. I was hopeing for something that I could just put a muffler on or maybe just a glasspack. There is no way I can make my own exhaust because it is in such a tight area and I don't have a machine to bend up any exhaust. I know summit has a set of headers for the slant six but I don't know if it will fit because I have a standard with the mechanical clutch. and it has that big cross-arm from the frame to the tranny that kind of hangs in the way so i don't think there is enough room to have the 2 pieces of headers to fit there. |
