Gentlemen,
I got a random short that knocked out my wipers, radio and directionals one morning and just by checking fuses, which were all good, the short disappeared for now, but I expect it will come back, any ideas would be appreciated! I think it's a grounding issue.

Water from the wiper pivot seals dripping onto the back of your fuse box and shorting stuff out.

If you lost function, but didn't blow a fuse, you probably have an open, not a short. I've seen that appear in my car that is garage kept and only goes a few miles/year.

It is a good idea every 5 years or so to unplug & clean the connections. The glass fuses seem especially prone to making a poor connection for no reason - take them out and put them back and it's good again. I put a very thin film of conductive grease on after scouring the contacts clean to prevent a reoccurance; since the problem took many years to appear I can't say if that technique really helps - ask me in 15 years.
