I went acting like a real jerk yesterday looking around the city for a non- Fram filter, not an easy task, but it was worth it after seeing the difference. I picked a Wix at Carquest and changed off the old Fram. After what I had seen and heard about how bad Fram is I decided to cut the Fram open> all plastic, cardboard garbage construction. They are probably adequate for the job (daily beater)but along with splitfires and NASCAR approved sparkplug wires its all hype and pipe dreams. Why spend that kind of money for that five and dime crap thinking 'its the best'?

I like the spinflow filters they have at NAPA. This is one of those "Nascar select" parts that is actually worth a crap.

Youre on the money, Wix makes those for NAPA as well. My reference to the NASCAR deal refers to some sparkplug wires I bought years ago that had MORE resistence to current flow than my 9+ year old originals ones (AC delco) that 'looked' like they 'needed' changing. SHANGHI RIP OFF those were official NASCAR dont ya know.

This day and time I stay away from Nascar anything as it is usually a ripoff. If you can get the AC PF-2 filter in your area it is a good deal, our Walmart used to sell them but now they're Fram all the way, I complained to the sales people but they must whip them if they stock a good automotive item. The Wix 51515 is the best that I have seen and I get a savings buying them by the case, works on all the Mopars, Fords and Toyota's I own.
