| Post subject: | Wiring for electronic ignition on an older engine? |
I'm close to being ready to fire up the 225 /6 in my '63 Town Panel. The engine is from a '69 Dart, but the distributor is electronic ignition. The ignition module on the firewall of the Dart was red. I'm ready to buy a module and hook it up, but how do I wire this? Do I use the single resistor, a double, or do I even need it with this setup? Thanks |

Are you set on using the Chrysler ignition module or would you prefer something that can give you better reliability. SlantsixDan has a nice little GM HEI conversion that lots of people here are having great success with. here is a link to the how-to http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15779 I would love to see photos of your town panel, I have a 48/49 Panel that is going to be my next project. I've already got the Dodge distributor, I just want to run it. The engine is stock and will pretty much stay that way for now.SlantsixDan has a nice little GM HEI conversion that lots of people here are having great success with. here is a link to the how-to http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15779 I would love to see photos of your town panel, I have a 48/49 Panel that is going to be my next project. Brian Here's an album of pics of my truck. The early pics are from the guy I bought it from. http://triumphchoppers.com/gallery/album91 |

The only diagram I could find there is for the charging system. It does show very basic ignition also, but nothing for the electronic ignition.http://www.earlycuda.org/tech/charging.htm I may be missing something, but this was the only one I could find there. |

Looks like it won't be needed right now anyway. I just bought a points type distributor cheap. I've still gotta hook up the exhaust and radiator, as well as a few other minor issues, as well as going thru the brakes before it's ready to be driven.
