How do you get a 1965 Valiant headlight switch out for replacement. There's a button on it I was thinking you needed to push in, but that doesn't seem to release anything. TIA |

Jim: have you ordered your factory service manual yet? The button releases the knob.....then you unscrew the switch. |

You have to pull the knob out to the full on position then press the button and pull the knob on out. It can sometimes be a little balky but that's how it works. |

Tape a dime to your finger and use it to press the button on the switch. It is kind of hard to press and the dime keeps your finger from getting a drain hole. |

That "dime" trick should be in the FSM! I wrapped my finger in about six layers of electrical tape. It still poked me pretty good, but no blood - no foul! |

Thank you, all you guys, for your suggestions. With your assurances I got up the nerve to really haul it out of there.Dimes, tape, whatever. That thing is sure a "bug bear." |
