I need to buy a throttle cable for my Town Panel with a 225 /6 from a '69 Dart. The cable has a piece that bolts to the firewall with 2 bolts and the cable passes thru the center. Was this used on other vehicles with the /6?

Thanks

The 2-bolt plate you describe sounds like the backing plate for the accelerator pedal attachment point — on passenger cars, they're not actually part of the throttle cable, which has a round metal ferrule held in with a spring clip (under the dash).

Ok, you're correct. I'll try getting one for a Dart and see if it'll work. Thanks

Well, what length cable do you need? If you'll tell us that, then my parts books and I can probably help you narrow in on the best candidate cars to get a cable from.

Looks like a 36" cable will be needed. The cable passes thru the firewall almost dead center, and the carb requires a sideways pull (towards driver's side). Much less than that would have it in a bind.

Thanks again, the info available here was one reason I went with the /6.

You won't find a 36" cable in any cars! That's a lengthy, lengthy cable...sounds like a truck/van only item.

Is there a list online of the lenghts available? It almost sounds like I'll have to buy an aftermarket cable. I was hoping to avoid that.

Surf the web for go-cart parts/throttle cables. I had to use one for my van.

I ordered a 36" universal cable from Jegs this morning. It's just over $40 with shipping.
