Weber carbs are good carbs, very few problems if they fit the application, and are in good tune, and not worn out.
Not sure how good a bbs is, as I have never had one...

BBSs are good carbs, too. When properly selected and in good condition, they work dependably and without hassle.

I really don't think there's any basis for preferring one over the other a priori. They're both good designs. Either one, in good condition, properly selected and tuned, will work well for you. Either one, in bad condition, improperly selected or out of tune, will make problems.

i sold webers and installed weber conversions for about 10 years...closest thing to a throttle body you will find. stock engine, run a 32/36 dgev progressive, if built up, run a 38 dges straight 2 barrel GRT

P.S. You fix that signature photo yet?

Number of barrels, etc., aside, what do you think of the general quality of the Weber DG*V (5200?) carbs compared to the BBS?

Ross, Holley/Weber 5200s are modified Weber DGEV carbs. Both styles have been used may times by many people on many slant 6s. Joshua P.S. You fix that signature photo yet?
