Reset The Timing chain and distributor. The Truck Runs good at idle but bogs down when it gets warm. Here's something I never mentioned before. This is a 1985 Dodge 150 Royale with a slant six engine. The Haynes and Chilton manual state that timing is 12* BTDC however my tab for timing only has a 10* mark on it, it doesn't go to 12* or more. I know that this is not the original motor to this truck but I can't find anything in a slant six with less than 12* BTDC. Anyone ever see this?

What do you mean it boggs down? when you put it in drive it stalls or when you give it gas it hesitates or stumbles? If your engine is much older it may have a vacuum or mechanical advance? try 5 btc and see how it goes. My 85' is 12 btdc but the gauge reads that high also. you must have an older engine
