Ouch...gotta love a company that offers proper customer service, then goes "Ha ha, not, just kidding." Can you tell us, please, the identity of this cam company so we'll know to steer clear of them? Good job homing in on the tuning...keep a careful eye on that valve adjustment; if over the long run it begins to loosen up (bigger clearances) faster than might be explained by loose adjustors (they're all nice and tight and hard to turn, right?), that will indicate premature cam wear. |

Always reset your valves after 500 miles or so. They can also get tighter if there is any recession in the valve seats. I personaly would run the exaust a little looser. I like to give them plenty if room to expand if the engine overheats, plus I find my slants ran better with about .002 looser on the exhaust. The stock cam calls for .020 on the exhaust and I set mine at .023. Listen as you tighten them down and you will hear a miss develope in the exhaust as you start to get it too tight, and then back off from there a couple thou. This requires a little playing around and finding a good base line. |
