I just threw in a hotter coil and 8mm wires. the plugs, cap and rotor all looked good so I didn't change em. even though I bought em. the plugs looked like they were running slightly lean if anything. should I richen up the mixture a tad now that it's got really hot spark? |

reading plugs ain't as easy as it was. gas additives and the wide variety of temp ranges makes reading plugs really like playing the blind chicken if your electrodes are anywhere from light brown to tan, or even light beige, just leave it if you ain't getting other symptoms like lean surge or overheating or such |

There is no reason to richen the mixture. |

The spark is exactly as hot (which has nothing to do with heat, but with maximum secondary voltage) as the cylinder pressure, dwell time and engine speed require it to be. Unless your previous parts weren't working the spark is just as hot as it was before. |
