Is there EVER any kind of lubricant used on a carburetor, like WD-40 or anything?? Some moving parts on my Carter BBS get stuck in a position, then jump suddenly if enough pressure builds. I see this during the transition time when the choke and idle speed are varying. More specifically, for one thing, even if I move the throttle repeatedly the cam will suddenly jump from fast to way slow, because the link above it hangs until the choke gets far enough for it to suddenly unstick. If I keep jiggling it it will gradually move as the choke moves. Without that it waits then jumps, even if I bump the throttle repeatedly. |

I've read several manuals for several makes of cars and they always say not to lubricate the linkage. Carb cleaner only. The choke linkage may be out of alignment. A shop manual will give you precise instructions. Other guys may know the problem better. |

You'l find carb grease on the same aisle in the auto parts store as the blinker fluid and elbow grease. http://kalecoauto.com/ |

That's what I figured, but I had to ask.

I'm trying to follow the setup instructions on a "new" refurb and the grasshopper effect is getting in my way. Thanks |
