i put on a super six, and its running pretty super, but, while reading old posts searching for people talking about their conversion i read that not having the choke on right can hurt performance and mileage, i have the choke, but its just sitting there, i took the controller piece off of the donor car, but i dont know how to set it up, can i run a wire and switch to turn it on and off? i was thinking at least for now i would just leave it off, but if not having it on right is causing problems id rather have it, unless taking it off completely would fix it, i only drive this car during the spring-fall, no cold weather driving, so i dont need it too much right now, thanks!
car is a 67 dart gt, donor of super six is a 77 volare wagon, carter carb, havent rebuilt it/dont know how to adjust metering rods, came off running car
thanks!

Best and easiest thing you can do: Install one of these choke conversion kits. Unlike the nonadjustable, fiddly (and usually decrepit, at this late date) factory units, the conversions are fully adjustable and have all new parts. Toss it on the car, adjust it once or twice, and have perfect starts and optimal fuel economy all year.
