Are the 225 rods interchangable thru the years? If you are using the
early steel crank 225 you need the same rods from that era to match right? And the cast crank 225 uses the rods that are correct for it,right??

Forged cranks only fit forged crank blocks as the cast cranks fit late blocks and yes, the rods are different.

All the forged steel crank, 225 con rods are the same, 1960 thru 76 and carry forging number 2205554

The cast crank con rods are different, these are narrower.
