the other day I was driving home and the speedo just quits. I got home and unscrewed the cable at the speedo and pulled it out. It was fine and intact. I looked under the car and found the housing for the cable broken.

I slid some 1/4" fuel line over both pieces of housing untill they butted against each other and clamped it down with some hose clamps.

speedo is working just fine again :)

anybody make a cable that will work with a 63 dart?
will a parts house universal work?
I doubt that this will last forever, but it ought to last a good while.

Phil

These go by on eBay fairly frequently. Interchange is 1960-1965 Dart, Valiant, Lancer. You can probably buy one directly from Pat Blais, tflitepatty@verizon.net .

I saw that cable but didn't post the link here 'cause it's 12 inches too long. The '60-'65 A-body cable is a 57" item.
