Is there a prefered source for engine master rebuild kits (pistons/rings/bearings etc)? It gets confusing with all the suppliers out there, and I'm hoping some of you would like to share your positive experiences regarding both kit quality and supplier service.

Thanks in advance!

Blue Star Spares in QLD is a reliable supplier; I've never known Graeme over there to supply junk. Check with Ray who runs moparmarket.com.au; he's built many very fast slant-6s and surely knows all the best bits. Cameron Tilley, likewise, is a good source of knowledge in your part of the world. Think he's on here, but can't recall his screen name.

I gave them the engine, in parts and they did what I asked them to do, But they are in So Cal, so this might not be the way to go for you........

Kmccann: VE Safari is in Australia.

A-body sunvisors are available from a few different companies down there. I bought the ones for my Volvo and my '62 Lancer from Hy-Way Sunvisors. There's also AutoCables Australia, with a pretty nice website full of interesting goodies.

Cross reference: Australian R&S sunvisors, venetian blinds and weathershields will fit US '60-'62 Valiant and Lancer

Australian AP5, AP6, VC sunvisors and weathershields will fit US '63-'66 Dart and Valiant

Australian VE, VF, VG sunvisors and weathershields will fit US '67-'76 Dart and Valiant (not Duster, Demon or Dart Sport).

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'm just trying to save a few bucks - I know I can get quality components here in Aus, however I figured it might be cheaper to get a basic rebuild kit for my daily driver from the US.

Postage really is not that expensive, and I'm used to just shipping stuff in - tools, clothes, books, parts can still noticeably cheaper when purchased OS, despite the postage. If it is a matter of a few dollars, sure, I buy local. But when the difference amounts to hundreds of dollars, well sometimes you have to wonder...

Anyway, I'm yet to price a kit here in Aus but will do so soon.
