I am so tired of walking into a speed shop to ask general type questions and when I tell them I am playing with a slant, they don't seem to know anything about anything!! I don't expect them to know specifically about my 255, though that would be nice, but its still a 4 stroke internal combustion engine. Its not like I don't buy anything. I buy something nearly every time I walk in. Walk in to discuss types of EFI systems and their recommendations (TBI vs Multi Port ect). For a slant - retailer " I don't know" . For a small block - " well let me tell you about all the bbenefitsof one over the other". Yes I will have to custom fab injector rail, but after that its all the same right? Well enough venting for now. |

Well, I understand your frustration, but hot rod shops sell parts. Since there are so few hot rod parts available for slants, the chebbie guys aren't going to understand why you want to build up a slant in the first place. One of the reasons I got into Mopars in the first place was because it required more detective work to find what you wanted, as opposed to Pherds and Chebbies. Slants are one step further - now I sometimes envy the V8 Mopar guys and how easy they have it compared to us. Working on slants requires more creativity and ingenuity, and you need to understand that most "regular" hot rodders just won't get it. That's why WE'RE here. VM |

You mean the hot rodders that spend $200 on a cold air ram system to increase power when for a fraction, they can tune the damned thing up? Are those the hot rodders you're talking about? |

Saw something on a show like American Hot Rod (or similar) about this guy who is into chevy sixes. It is slowly becoming a trend (they went into that a bit). I say let's keep it that way. There's enopugh news just on this site to show us how and what to do and if somebody can pull a 9 with a slant, it's some serious stuff. I like the detective work too. I just hate not having the $$$$$$$$. But if I did my yard would probably look like a boneyard as well |
