That's right what the car should weigh.

I was wondering how everyone knows what the weight of their car is with them in it!

I guess you go to the metal dealer.

I got into the wrong line at the dump the other day (needed the house hold chemicals line) and rolled on the scale. Lady told me where to go but before I left I asked her what the scale said. It read 3740 with me and a quarter tank of gas. Heavier than I thought. I weigh 165, so I guess its not to bad.

My '68 V200 is 2830 with a half tank of fuel.
With me in it.....quite a bit more!

Without me in it my van would weigh 4415! Guess I have no hope for a career as a race car driver or a horse jockey! ;)

My '87 D150 with me (175 lbs), a half tank of gas, and nothing else (no spare, jack, etc) is 3800 lbs. That is actually quite a bit lighter than I expected.

My 74 Duster weighs 3300 pounds with an empty trunk and 1/2 tank of gas. Man those late A-bodies were pigs!

All the stuff on your late A-body adds up. I'll be you have disc brakes and power steering which both add weight. There are the bigger bumpers, heavier doors, emissions equipment, more sound deadening and the overall larger body.

Our '73 Duster race car with a 225 tipped the scales at 2,785 with a gutted interior, but still wearing all the glass, bumpers, steel wheels, etc. I think it had about 3/4 tank of gas at the time. It has 10" drum brakes and the power steering box, but no pump. 8 1/4 out of a Dakota instead of the 7 1/4. Offy manifold and headers with no exhaust dropped several pounds too.
