| Post subject: | 63 Signet after FE rebuild |
Finally finished the front end rebuild. While dogdishes do look good, I have a set of 64 Fury hubcaps I'm thinking of using. They say PLYMOUTH twice on each cap, which is two times more than the whole exterior. I think the full wheel covers suit the Signet trim level... Here's my 63 Signet with the Fury caps: ![]() And w/o (imagine dogdishes) ![]()

How do you get the wheels painted the color of the body? I can't even buy touch-up paint to match. Anyway, sounds expensive. I spent my fortune already. The dog dishes look cool, but I think too cool for this car. I think I would drive it harder if it had racy dog dishes. |

This is where I got the paint to paint my bigger 14" x 5.5" wheels (from 13x4.5)I can't even buy touch-up paint to match. Anyway, sounds expensive. I spent my fortune already. Everything else about my 63 daily driver is pretty ordinary. It's a beater compared to JimmyA's great triple SU car. The mere fact that I put the front end back together blows my mind. The engine is worn out, but over the years I've done some peripheral work in the engine compartment. These pics show my HEI module mounted on a block of aluminum inside a cast aluminum project box. It's a pretty healthy heat sink. I used the directions at http://duster318.freeservers.com/tech/hei.html I added a ground wire from both HEI mounting holes to the alternator mounting bolt to a voltage regulator mounting screw. Nearby you can see the steel fuel and vacuum lines that run inside the fender to the firewall, where they point towards the (backwards) 32/36 dfev. |

Just go to your local auto paint jobber or panel shop and get them to colour match the paint for you. Over here, 500ml of 2Pak paint costs about $50 - that's way more than enough to do 5 wheels.I can't even buy touch-up paint to match. Anyway, sounds expensive. I spent my fortune already. Regardless, your car looks great as it is. Nice ride! |
