I went to the junkyard today looking for cable type gas pedals. there were only two slant six cars in the whole yard. a 69 dart and a 73 Aspen? it was big had 4 doors pretty bad shape. anyway. both these cars had their gas pedals and both were the same. except one had a shorter foot pad so I grabbed that. has anyone used this style pedal for the swap or should I keep searching for the V8 pedal. I'm not afraid of fabbing up a way to mount it. I just dont want to put/or leave alot of holes in my firewall

I am assuming that you are wanting to mount a hanging style cable throttle system on a 64 a-body. I did this on a 64 valiant I used to own. All you have to do is drill three holes in the firewall. One for the cable and two for the pedal bracket. If you look close you will even see the dimple on the firewall whihc the factory put there for the cable operated throttle linkage in V-8 cars. You can use that dimple as the hole for the cable and then just drill some holes for the pedal bracket.

I'd like to keep it factory and use the 64 V8 style. however. I have the hanging style pedal so I might do that.

Good luck finding a 64-66 a-body throttle cable linkage. You will need to get one from a v-8 car or a slant six with air conditioning. Scout for wagons, cudas, and dart gts.
