Those things are in my top ten list of overpriced restoration parts. Almost 100 bucks for a strip of metal with fuzz on it, bah.

At Bernbaum I find a listing as follows for my '65 Valiant: A- Window sweeper - 8 piece set, formed, includes attached clips..85.00 Does any body know exactly what this means? Is it enough for both right and left doors or only one? |

I would assume that it's the little felt lined rubber pieces that the glass rides between at the bottom of the window. Not familiar w/ valiants in particular, but most cars I've seen have only 2 per door. Hence, 8 would do 4 doors. |

Yeah, Cstryker nailed it. These are also known as catwhiskers. One goes on each side of the window and keeps water from running down the window and into the door or quareter panel. Two per window X four windows = eight. |

Hmm, I guess I missed something. From the diagram I thought the set was for two windows. But the category was both 2-door & 4-door. I don't know how you are supposed to handle those itsy bitsy back windows. Maybe merely cut to size.Thanks |

Ah yes, hardtops have windows which roll down in the back. I didn't think about that. Duh. |

At the glass shop we call them "run channels," I've also seen them called "Bailey Channels" but that may be a "down under" name for them. |

Heh. Mine are extremely cheap strips of stick-on neoprene that I picked up at a hardware store somewhere and cut to length.

Heh. Mine are extremely cheap strips of stick-on neoprene that I picked up at a hardware store somewhere and cut to length.The rubber is fine in mine but no fuzz. If they get damp the glass sticks going down. But given the prices I'm seeing I am seriously considering gluing in some strips of velvet or something. Given the strength of some glue I happened onto, it should work well if I can find the kind of fabric I want. |

I bought some very cheaply (~$20 for 2) for my pickup from JC Witless that kinda-sorta fit. Not sure if they'd have them for your application, but it might be worth lookin (assuming your not after perfection). |

Doesn't Steele Rubber have the whixkers in a strip you can cut to fit? Or GAry Goers. That price seems way too high! |
