Post subject:  BBD accel. pump cup lube?

Greetings -

The FSMs that I ordered, and which might or might not include the
info. that I need, won't be here for several days. In the meantime,
I'm ISO what other BBD /6rs use to 'lightly lubricate the cup' that will not react with fuel or the cup composition. If anything.

Thanks and regards.

Oil of most any type you've got (engine oil, trans fluid, P/S fluid, 3-in-One) will do fine to soften up the leather so you can flare-out the cup prior to its installation. Gasoline, carburetor cleaner, brake cleaner, penetrating oil, WD40, etc. isn't what is wanted.
