MXN002- slantsixdan pointed out to me that I might have some weird grounding issues, but, when I replaced the bulbs in the grille-mounted turns signals on my '71 Dart, the fuel and temp gauges started working again.

That advice is worth exactly what you paid for it. Good luck.
