| Post subject: | Wierd Oil Leak |
A few weeks ago i replaced my rear main seal and oil pan gaskets because there was oil leaking from the inspection plate, but it still leaked. So yesterday i pulled the trans, clutch, flywheel, the whole deal to replace the freeze plug. The freeze plug was good as new, so i sealed up the pipe plug and oil pan with RTV. But it still leaks just as much as before. Am i missing something or am i just a bad mechanic? It leaks through the inspection plate so its definately something on the back of the motor. I need help! |

Have you seen where the oil is coming out while the engine is running? Pull the inspection cover, start the engine and get a bright light to see if you can spot the exact place the oil is coming out of. Stay away from the moving flywheel. DD |

You sure it's not the valve cover gasket? Don't ask me how I know. |
