I'm looking at some 14X8 steelies-- where can I find out what the min/max tire size? I currently have 235/60/14's(on 7" slots) & they seem to fit the rear wheel opening perfect-- 62 valiant is the ride
just looking for info on rim to tire fitment issues--- thanks

Goto tirerack.com, and look up a tire (i.e. 235/60 14).

Lookup the specs on that tire, and then you'll also see other tires of that model.

Look at the recommended rim widths and you can figure out the min/max tire for a 14x8 rim

It's really too bad you can't get a decent 14" or 15" tire any more. A BFG Radial T/A is only a fair tire by my standards. The T/A would have to be better than it is to make decent. The lack of good wide low profile tires in 15" sizes is the #1 reason I went with 17" wheels on my '72 Swinger. I've run 205/50R15 and 225/50R15s on the front of my '66 Dart, but they are short.
