I went to NAPA today and got a timing set and a timng cover gaket set. New timing set has all steel gears. Looks pretty sturdy.

I will have pics of my stretched stock timing set as soon as I get it out of my car. The plastic cam gear has done started coming apart and winding up in the oil.

It's a reboxed "Cloyes" setup...

Make sure you watch the dot, it may be 180 degrees out (just use a longer ruler...)

Actually they are not 180 out. When the dots are lined up the engine is at TDC compression #6, not #1. This is as it should be. With the dots lined up #1 is at TDC overlap, and you can lay a straight edge across the valves, and they should be open the same amount (split overlap).
