I have a set of electric fans and an electric fuel pump that need to be hooked up so they are hot when the engine is running. does anyone know a good wire to hook them up to or a good way to do it. the fans are run off relays so they dont take much to turn on, and I may put the pump on a relay also.

Yes, use relays.
Do you have a thermostatic switch to turn the fans on at a set temp?
Do you want the elect. fuel pump to run all the time of just when needed?

yes there is a thermo switch to turn the fans on and off. I thought the fuel pump was supposed to be on when the engine was running?

You might want the fans to run for a while after switching the car off, but the fuel pump only when the engine is running.
My youngest son's POS Chevy LUV has an electric fuel pump wired (I use the term loosely) so it's on when the key is in the "Accessory" position, as well as "On". This means you can't just listen to the radio (If it had a working radio) without the pump doing its thing. Not good.
I'd like to find the bozos who worked on this poor truck, and rewire THEM ...
