In the tech articles "Playing With Blocks" ,what do the oil standoff pipes in the lifter galley measure height-wise above the galley floor?....Dr Dodge, Anybody? The reason I ask is the fittings that I got from my local plumbing supply look similar, but are about 1 1/4" long above the threads.....looks a lil tall to me! I got the oil passages drilled succesfully, and deburred, and the standoffs are my next challenge..... Thanks so much in advance! Y'all have been a bunch of help!!! Bill |

The stand-off only need to be tall enough to keep oil covering the lifters. If you hone -out or groove the lifter bore, the "pool" of oil drains past the lifter body and right onto the cam to lifter face intersection. 1/2 to 3/4 inch is all you need to create the oil pool but you can use the taller stand-off, just drill a drain back hole 1/2 inch up on the side of the tube.
