I need to rebuild the engine in a 65 signet convertible I just snagged. First off I need to know for sure that the V8 is in fact a 273. Can someone here tell me where the number is on the engine block?

Also, any help and links to parts information would be helpful.

Where is a good source for an engine complete rebuild kit?

I also need a drivers side front fender. I'm also interested in finding metal to replace the rust holes around both rear quarters.

All information would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the rocker arms, if they have adjusting nuts on them, 99.9% of the time it is a 273.

The engine ID is stamped on the front of the block right under the driver's side head. Take a scraper and a wire brush. Also, 273s have a concave area on the driver's side of the block to clear a power steering gearbox.
