I just picked up a 65 Valiant and it is a mostly rust free Cali car. I'd like to keep it rust free and in the Pacific NW that aint easy especially without the garage space for it. I am looking into getting a car port/shelter, anyone know the good brands/deals on these. Id like it to be fully enclosed. Thanks.

Costco has a 10 x 20 or so portable carport and I believe it has canvas sides as well. Last I saw they were about $300.00

Growing older is unavoidable but growing up is strictly optional.

OH good idea, and I'm even a member. Can't find it on their site though, looks like some phone calls will be in order.

Thanks.

Around my area (northwestern VA) there are numerous places that feature a metal roof "carport", installed on your un or improved space for $695 installed. I know they also offer options such as full metal sides and full metal ends with doors or roll-ups.

Places like Lowe's and Home Depot sell aluminium tubing frames that are designed to be used with those blue or green PVC tarps that can be used to make a carport. Really cheap. Or you can get one of those pre-fab aluminium structures. My personal favorite is some rope, PVC tarps, and a few trees. Very cheap and quick and easy to construct.

Tarps wear out with constant exposure. The cheap blue ones 6months- 1year. The heavier silver ones a couple of years.

Make sure you anchor it well or it will wind up in the trees after the first good windstorm. Seen it happen.
