| Post subject: | Rebuilding shortblock economically as possible |
I am getting ready to rebuild my shortblock this winter. I have a 1.70/1.44 head that I had redone last year. Some light porting in the bowls and ports and the chambers were measured at 54cc after .030 off. I am looking to do go around 8.5 to 8.8 compression as it may see a turbo in the future. I am looking for the best companies to deal with and any other ways to keep this rebuild reasonable money wise. I also would like the largest cam that would still work with turbo at a later date. Any suggestions? |

If you are on a tight budget you may want to check price on remanufactured short blocks. All the automotive chain stores offer them and there are also some good deals that pop-up on ebay. A Mopar 244 or Comp 252 is a good 'off the shelf' cam choice for a turbo SL6 DD |
