Anybody have a loose block with a crank in it that is willing take a measurement for me?

I need a number from the crank flange, where the flywheel bolts on, to the face of the block, where the bellhousing mates to the block.

Could you give me the height of the ring on the end of the crank, as well? The one that centers flywheel.

I sure would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Are you looking for a "tape measure", or "micrometer" demension? I have three engines on stands, but the mounting plate/arms are in the way, for a real acurate measurement.

Tape measure would be fine. This is just ballpark stuff.

Thanks!

.265 inches

This is on a 1964 170 engine and standard trans crank. Don't think it will make any difference, but wanted to specify.

Dang, that must be one nice tape measure.

I really hope you didn't put a bunch of work into getting those numbers for me. I would have been ok if you had just eyeballed a tape, but it sounds like you pulled a motor off the stand to get them.

You have my gratitude and appreciation.

I don't buy those cheap Chinese tape measures, I get the high dollar stuff.

Was able to move one arm out of the way, and use a depth vernier.
