Hi,

I've seen many people looking for a comparison of slant six cams. I recently came across this table, available as a PDF:

http://www.hal-pc.org/~bwhitejr/Slant_Six_Cams.pdf

Would this be something we can post in the "Articles" section?

Thanks. - Mac

THANK YOU I had posted to get this info a few days ago . However no one seemed interested on this forum. I would think since our options are limited w/ the /6 (and seem to be getting more limited all the time) that the list would not be too big. If Chuck can make this into an article or chart for the website I think that would be great.
Thanks Again
Frank :D

i have to do the fine checking but I think that the hyperpack cam is what our local chrysler guys used for the GT version equipped with twin 1 barrels from the factory. I'd send soon the chart for our local camshafts and one erson 270° and other erson 250° that are good.
very nice explanation about what tight and broad centerlines and overlap thing does to a cam behaviour.
I also have a couple of patterns that I've used on custom ginds that have rendered very impressive results.

I built the thing to compare camshafts for the Slant Six. I will send anyone a copy who wants one. Just email me.

Can someone recommend a site that explains how to select a cam. Sometime that explains overlap, duration, advancing and retarding and the benfits or disadvantages of to much or to little.

http://www.google.com/search?complete=1 ... +selection

I think the problem you are going to find is not everyone has the same opinion on how to choose one, whats best, etc etc...so if you are just looking for what the different terms mean to enable you to make what you think is the best choice...you can't beat google for that info.

No matter where you go, you are always going to get some kind of opinion wrapped up in what the best way to select a cam shaft.
